Short answer
Both models use cold steam and are designed exclusively for the coats of cats and dogs. The difference is in the run time (12 vs 18 minutes), the head width (9 vs 13 cm) and the fact that the S900A has a self-cleaning button and a stainless steel and TPR brush head. The S800A is the compact choice for one or two pets; the S900A is better for long-haired breeds or multiple pets.
- ✓ S800A: 12 min, 9 cm head, compact — ideal for one cat or a small dog
- ✓ S900A: 18 min, 13 cm head, self-cleaning — better for long-haired or multiple pets
- ✓ Both: cold steam, safe for every pet, one fixed reservoir
Two models, the same principle — yet different results depending on the type of pet and how intensively you brush. Many buyers choose on price alone and miss out on the model that really fits their situation. This article explains the real differences.

When should you choose the S800A?
The S800A is the right choice if: You have one or two cats or a small to medium-sized dog with a normal to light coat. You brush weekly and don't have large amounts of hair to deal with. You want something compact and light for easy use and storage.
The S800A weighs 680 grams, making it the lightest model. The 12-minute run time per fill is enough for one cat in a brushing session. Cleaning the head by hand after use takes about 30 seconds — not a big deal with a normal amount of hair.

When should you choose the S900A?
The S900A is the right choice if: You have a long-haired breed (Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Norwegian Forest Cat) or multiple pets. You want the self-cleaning button for faster maintenance. You have a large dog with a thick undercoat where you need the wider 13 cm head.
The S900A's self-cleaning button makes the biggest practical difference: after a session with a Maine Coon, the brush head is full of hair. With the self-cleaning button, the head is clean in ten seconds — with the S800A you do it by hand. The stainless steel and TPR brush head of the S900A also reaches deeper into thick undercoats.

What owners say
★★★★★
“I started with the S800A for my Ragdoll. After a year I upgraded to the S900A. The self-cleaning button alone makes the difference — with a Ragdoll, the head is full after every session.”
Lisa · Haarlem
★★★★★
“For our two short-haired cats, the S800A is perfect. Twelve minutes is plenty for a session, and it's nice and light in the hand.”
Roel · Amsterdam
Frequently asked questions
Can I upgrade from the S800A to the S900A later?
Yes. Both models are available separately. Many owners start with the S800A and switch when they get a second pet or a long-haired breed. There are no shared accessories, so you start fresh — but that doesn't have to be a problem.
Is there a difference in noise between the two models?
The S900A has a slightly more powerful motor. The noise level is marginally higher, comparable to an electric toothbrush on a higher setting. The difference is small and most pets don't notice it after a period of getting used to it.
Which model is better for a dog?
For small dogs (up to 15 kg), the S800A is enough. For medium-sized and large dogs — especially with a thick undercoat like a Husky, Labrador or Golden Retriever — the wider head and longer run time of the S900A are a clear advantage.
Is the water reservoir the same on both models?
Both models have a fixed reservoir that you refill through the filling opening on top. On neither model is the reservoir removable. Always just use tap water.
