Short answer
The S800A is a steam brush made especially for the coats of cats and dogs. Cold steam loosens shedding hair, the brush head catches it and the steam hydrates the skin at the same time. 45 seconds to heat up, 12 minutes per fill. No separate attachments — one brush head that does it all.
- ✓ Cold steam — always safe, even for puppies and kittens
- ✓ Loosen and catch in one motion
- ✓ Hydrates the skin — the coat becomes softer and healthier
- ✓ 45 seconds to heat up, 12 minutes of use
You've been brushing your cat or dog for years, but the hair keeps coming. The brush pulls, your pet pulls away, and the floor is still covered in loose hair. The S800A works differently: cold steam relaxes the hair cuticles, so shedding hair comes loose by itself — without pulling, without frustration.
This article explains how the S800A works, what its unique features are and which type of pet it's best suited for.
Why the S800A is different
❄
Cold steam — always safe
The steam is always cold at the outlet. No risk of burns, not even with direct skin contact. Safe for cats and dogs of all ages.
🪝
Loosen and catch in one motion
Steam frees the loose hair. The brush head catches it right away. No hair on the floor, no endless picking up.
💧
Hydrates the skin
Steam adds moisture to your pet's skin. The coat becomes softer and shinier after every session — visible results.
🕒
45 seconds to heat up
Ready fast. Fill the reservoir with water, wait 45 seconds and start. No long preparation — great for short daily sessions too.
How does the S800A work?
The S800A heats water into steam that comes out through the brush head. Because the steam is cold when it leaves the head, there's no risk of burns at all for your pet's skin. How it works:
-
Steam relaxes the hair cuticles
The steam opens up the structure of each hair. Shedding hair — which would otherwise stay stuck in the coat — now comes loose without pulling. Your pet barely feels any resistance.
-
The brush head catches the hair
As you brush, the loosened hair is caught right away by the brush head. After the session, you simply rinse the hair out of the head under the tap.
-
Steam hydrates the skin
While removing hair, the steam also moisturizes the skin. Dry, flaky skin visibly improves after a few weeks of regular use.

Who is the S800A for?
Ideal for: Owners of one or two cats or small to medium-sized dogs. Pets with a normal to moderate undercoat. Owners who want to build a daily or weekly brushing routine without complicated maintenance.
Do you have a long-haired breed such as a Maine Coon, Ragdoll or Norwegian Forest Cat, or a large dog with a thick undercoat? Then the S900A is a better fit: a wider head (13 cm), longer run time (18 minutes) and a self-cleaning button. Read our comparison article for the full explanation.

Frequently asked questions
Is the steam really cold? How does that work?
Yes — the steam that leaves the brush head is cold. The water is heated inside the device to create steam, but the steam cools down before it reaches the head. There's no risk of burns at all for your pet's skin or coat.
Can I use the S800A if my cat or dog is scared of the device?
Start without steam: let your pet sniff the device and get used to it. For the first few times, just switch it on so the sound becomes familiar. Only use steam once your pet is relaxed. Most pets get used to it after 3 to 5 sessions.
How long does a brushing session take?
For an average cat, a session takes 8 to 12 minutes — exactly the run time of one fill. Refill afterwards if you want to continue. For short-haired breeds, one fill per session is more than enough.
Is the water reservoir removable?
No, the reservoir is fixed in the device. You refill it through the filling opening on top. Just use tap water — don't add essential oils, vinegar or other substances, as they damage the inside over time.
How do I clean the brush head?
After every session, remove the loose hair from the head. Then rinse the head under the tap and let it dry. On the S900A, this happens automatically with the self-cleaning button — a real time-saver with heavily shedding coats.
How often should I brush?
For short-haired breeds, once a week is fine. For cats or dogs with a slightly thicker coat — such as a British Shorthair or Labrador — twice a week is better. Want to know more about long-haired breeds? Read our article on
steam brushes for Maine Coon, Ragdoll and Norwegian Forest Cat.
What's the difference with the S900A?
The S900A has a wider head (13 cm), longer run time (18 minutes) and a self-cleaning button. The S800A is more compact and lighter — ideal for one or two pets with a normal coat thickness. Read the
