How often do I need to replace the filter?
One carbon filter lasts about 4 weeks for 1 pet that drinks normally. With multiple pets or heavy soiling, replace it sooner. Read: the complete water fountain buying guide.
My cat won't drink the water, how do I fix that?
Most cats drink from the fountain within 1 to 2 days. Help the process along by placing the fountain next to the old water bowl first and only removing the old bowl later. Make sure the fountain is in a quiet spot, away from food and the litter box.
How quiet is the pump really?
The pump runs at ≤25 dB. That's quieter than an average fridge, and cats almost always accept it within a day. Does the pump sound louder anyway? Check there's enough water in the reservoir, because running dry makes a higher-pitched sound.
Is the water fountain suitable for both cats and dogs?
Yes. The 2.8L capacity is plenty for 1-2 cats or a small to medium-sized dog. For large dogs (≥25 kg) or multiple dogs, we recommend a second fountain or a larger model.
How much water does my cat or dog drink per day?
An average cat drinks 50-60 ml of water per kg of body weight per day. A dog drinks 70-100 ml per kg. A 2.8L reservoir is plenty for 1-2 pets for 3-4 days.
